Let me show you how...

Bruce Lee's One Inch Punch Can Solve
Your Double Bass Speed, Power and
Balance Problems Once and For All.
part 1

Ok, I've quietly solved more pro's problems when it comes to power, speed, balance and volume simply by demonstrating Bruce Lee's one inch punch and how it relates to the way you sit on your drum throne.

You see, back in 1964, Bruce Lee gave his famous "One Inch Punch" demonstration at Ed Parker's International
Karate Tournament.  Here was a small 120lb man knocking around 190lb black belts six feet away with almost no
movement.

Good ol' Bruce Lee sure understood the right body mechanics and how to get back up mass.

So for this lesson I'm going to talk about the first step in body mechanics and how a "SPECIAL" seat adjustment
makes all the difference in the world when it comes to generating speed, power and having vicious double bass
chops that scare the heck out of seasoned pro's.

First off, you need to have your feet generate power from the knees down.  Not from the thighs, hips or back. Listen, I see it all the time in videos and at clinics.  Pro drummers that are still teaching students to force out the power from their hips, backs and thighs.

*** By the way, these are the same drummers that can't play at speeds above 240bpm and DON'T have the 6-way independence that I'm going to give you.)  It's a shame. They spent so many years cranking out power from the WRONG parts of their body and they end up with chronic back and hip pain.***

-- So Here's the Lesson --

First sit on your drum throne making sure your thighs are parallel to the floor. Next put your feet on your bass drum pedals. Then raise your seat about 2 inches to compensate for the placement of your feet on the pedals.

Start playing while pushing down from the knees NOT the back or hips. Yes, the hips will move slightly but consciously
move the energy from the knees down. Later when you want killer speed, I'll show you how to generate the energy from the ankles down. But let's move on.

- NEXT.

The next step is something I demonstrate on the FREE CD and Report you should have requested already.  If not, go to the top of this page and get yourself a copy.

Take a ¼ piece of plywood and place it under the back leg of your throne. To give you clear picture of how this
will look. Your throne has 3 legs. Two legs should be right behind your right and left feet and the third leg under your
butt. The leg under your butt is where you put this ¼ piece of plywood.

This keeps everything in line ergonomically. The lower back stays tucked in, spine aligns straight for perfect
balance, and your body finds its center so the feet can almost float on the bass drum pedals.

It will feel awkward at first, but keep that ¼ piece of wood under the leg of your throne and watch what happens after
a couple of weeks. You'll develop a lightning fast, sledge hammer foot all because you kept your body ergonomically
in-line.

Oh... using the 1/4th plywood idea allows the fast twitch muscle fibers to occasionally rest so when you need to blast
off, your legs are ready for a quick take off.

Now when it comes to generating volume with power, I'll cover that in another lesson when I tell you about my little Russian Secret to devastating speed and power.  It was never talked about to drummers in America till now.  It has allowed my skinny 12-14 year old student's feet to strike the bass drum like a missile, yet they only weigh about
100lbs.

Now, run up to the hardware store and get that plywood under your throne. Weeks from now you'll thank me.

Ballistically Yours,

Joe "Ballistic" Stronsick

PS. It's kinda funny that drummers fly in from all over the world to take lessons from me and yet most of the time I'm just covering these "foundational" lessons I'm giving you.
